Gossen Mavolux 5032C Light Meter
Features in Detail
Architects and expert lighting system engineers greatly
depend on the precise measurement of light. Thus the Mavolux
5032C with light receptor will be the ideal measuring
instrument.
Gossen Mavolux 5032C Light Meter Key Features
- Highly Accurate Light Meter
- The Mavolux 5032C is a handy, easy to use, highly
accurate light meter capable of measuring illumination in
either footcandles or lux. Candelas/m2 and
footlamberts can also be measured with the optional
optical luminance attachment.
- Color Correction
- The Mavolux 5032C is equipped with color correction, so
that its spectral response is matched to that of the human
eye,V(λ), in accordance with DIN 5032, part 7, class C.
- Integrated Cosine Correction
- Integrated cosine correction is included in order to
ensure that oblique incident light is also evaluated
correctly.

Digital Luxmeters and Luminance meters classified
according to DIN 5032-7 and CIE 69.
Wide range of applications: for light technicians, for
the control of light sources, street lights, lighting of
work places, public buildings, sports facilties;for
quality control and quality assurance in the manufacture
of lamps and light sources; for light designers and
architects; for measurements in agriculture and
horticulture. Both MAVALUX types allow measuring very
high light intensities (brightest daylight, head lights)
without any additional accessories. Expecially the
MAVOLUX 5032 B having an initial sensitivity of 0.01 lx
allows measuring extremely low light intensities, such
as emergency lighting. Most important: The MAVOLUX 5032B
is optimally suited for certification and official
inspection procedures due to its high precision acc. to
Class B.
- Illuminance can be measured in Lux or
Footcandle
- Luminance can be measured in candles
per square meter (cd/m˛) or Footlambert (fL) with
optional luminance attachments
- Wide measuring ranges
- High resolution
- Meets Standards DIN 5032-7 and CIE
no. 69
- ilicon photo diode, colour corrected,
i.e. its spectral responsitivity is matched to the
spectral phototic vision of the human eye V(
).
The accuracy of that V( )
matching is the main difference between the two
MAVOLUX types C and B.
- Cosine correction for oblique
inciding light
- USB 1.1
Interface
- CD Rom with software for processing
the values measured and regulating the meter
- Rugged instrument design, easy
operation
- Ever-ready case, USB-cable included

Monitoring of the ambient light according to IEC
61223-2-5
(QS-RL dt. Nov. 20, 2003)
The MAVO-MAX extends the repeating cycles to six months
for testing the constancy at imaging display systems
concerning the „veil luminance“ and the „max. brightness
constrast“. It provides testing the intensity of the
ambient light. In case of repeat measurements in the
course of inspection or constancy tests, the repetition
of the „veil luminance“ measurement will not be
required. Therefore, it saves the waiting time of upto
60 minutes, which must be observed for this procedure to
ensure stability of the imaging display. The MAVO-Max
fully meets the needs in all medical applications, where
constant illuminance e.g. at diagnoses monitors and
viewing systems (DIN 6856-1) is required. A green LED at
the MAVO-MAX will indicate the permissible value for the
ambient light in the range of 20 – 60 Lux. If the
ambient light exceeds these limit values allowed for at
the diagnoses monitor, a red LED will come on. Just
connect the cable of the MAVO-MAX to the mains plug and
stick the MAVO-MAX to the top of the monitor.
- Monitoring range: 20 to 60 Lux
- Direct connection to the mains plug
- Continuous operation
